Nicholson Clinic Now Offering Gastric Balloon Procedures

Appetite suppression medication goes along with the treatment to help bring the total loss up to about 50% of excess weight loss. Abdominal wall reconstruction can also be used for further tightening and toning, if desired.
“You keep your curves, but achieve significant weight loss,” says Dr. Nicholson. “What’s even better for those who are concerned about permanent alteration during weight-loss surgery is that the procedure is completely reversible. In fact, after six months, the balloon is removed with patients generally maintaining about 35 percent of their weight lost after 18 months.”
The outpatient surgery has a one-week recovery period. It is a self-pay procedure at this time with most insurance companies not covering. The cost is $6,900.
