Most insurance companies have a process that could take anywhere from 1-6 months before weight loss surgery can be approved. Start the process today to have surgery by the fall or winter!

With many people taking vacation over the summer or working remote, it makes the pre-op and post-op process easier. Most gastric sleeve patients can work from home 3-5 days after surgery. Now is a great time to take advantage of time off this summer and working from home as you only need a few days off for surgery.

Going the self-pay route? Without any insurance criteria to meet, we can usually accommodate patients for their consult and surgery within 30 days. You can have surgery this summer and be a whole new you by the holidays!

Using Insurance? Get started on your pre-op appointments now, to have surgery by the fall or winter. Make all your appointments and check off your insurance requirements now and you'll be on your way to a new you in the new year!

You can get started by scheduling your consultation. When we schedule your appointment we collect your insurance information to verify coverage on your behalf. We will then reach out to you, prior to your appointment, to let you know what to expect. During your consultation, the doctor will help you make the best decision based on your individual needs. Many insurance companies have an average four month process of criteria you need to complete before being approved for surgery. All dietitian and psychologist appointments can be done via Telemedicine and there is no need to miss work!

INSURANCE CRITERIA – 6 TYPICAL STEPS
Everything can be done at YOUR convenience from the comfort of your home or office! No need to miss work!

Body mass index (BMI) requirements to be confirmed by your physician. BMI over 40 OR BMI over 35 with one or more of the following:

Clinically significant obstructive sleep apnea
Coronary heart disease
Medically refractory hypertension
Type 2 diabetes

Complete a medically supervised diet program.
Schedule a psychiatric evaluation to obtain a mental health clearance letter. This can be done via Telemedicine.
Schedule a nutritional evaluation from a Registered Dietitian. This can be done via Telemedicine.
Send all of the above documentation to your insurance company along with a detailed history of your obesity-related health problems, difficulties and treatment attempts.
Insurance company sends approval or denial letter.
