COVID-19 Statement

Dear Patients –

At the Nicholson Clinic, our number 1 priority is and always has been the health, safety and well-being of our patients. With that in mind, we want to keep you updated and informed of our plans, precautions and information as it pertains to the Coronavirus / COVID-19.

At present, Governor Abbott has asked the medical community to postpone all ELECTIVE procedures and surgeries. This includes any surgeries that are not immediately medically necessary or life-saving. If you are currently scheduled for surgery, we will be in contact with you to determine whether or not we will be allowed to proceed with your surgery on a case-specific basis. All insurance approvals will be honored in the future if we are forced to postpone your surgery.

We are committed to helping new patients and existing patients get healthy and stay healthy, and will now be offering phone consults with the physician during the COVID-19 outbreak.
 
If you have been considering weight loss surgery, do not let this temporary mandate deter you. The insurance approval process typically takes 3-6 months from consult to surgery. Self-pay patients can prepare for surgery in about 1 month or less. To accommodate new patients during this time, we now offer FREE phone consults with the physician, for initial consults only. Please call our office at 972-494-3100 to schedule. And we can keep you moving forward in the process with the required psychological and dietitian visits via our telehealth partner, PsyMed,Inc. They can be reached at 214-348-5557.
 
Whether you are pre-op or post-op, we encourage you to keep up with your appointments and requirements and keep your treatment plan on track. For existing patients, we offer phone follow-up appointments that will be billed to insurance at the time of service. In addition to phone appointments, in-person bariatric appointments are also still available. These will be offered on a limited, medical need basis in accordance with the CDC, NIH and government recommendations of limited group gatherings and healthcare facility standards for the safety of all of our patients and staff.

*Nicholson Clinic free physician consults are available for new patients, initial consults only, for a limited time. As the situation is continually evolving, free phone consults will be subject to change. Follow-up phone appointments are also available for existing patients and will be billed to insurance at the time of service. PsyMed, Inc. psychological and dietitian visits via telehealth will be billed per their regular invoicing policies.
